Bambi grew up motherless and alone, with only an imaginary friend---who took the form of a blue bunny---to keep her company throughout her lonely childhood. Later in her young life, no longer a sweet and innocent fawn, she came to understand that she had named her imaginary friend "thumper" as a result of her suppressed sexual appetite, the product of a conservative upbringing.
