xHamster Joins Fight for Net Neutrality

xHamster will participate in today’s Internet-Wide Day of Action to Save Net Neutrality an effort to oppose the FCC’s plan to slash Title II, the legal foundation for net neutrality rules that protect online free speech.

“Without Net Neutrality twenty years ago, we wouldn’t even have an adult internet,” said Alex Hawkins, VP of xHamster. “And without adult internet, we wouldn’t have ANY internet. After all, porn is the only reason most people bothered to get an internet connection in the first place!”

On July 12, xHamster users will receive the following message upon visiting the site, along with https://www.battleforthenet.com/july12/"target="blank">a contact link.

“Slow Speeds Make Us Limp! Tell the FCC To Support Net Neutrality Today!”

The site will also campaign on social media. xHamster has a long history of campaigning for the rights of sexual minorities and for sexual speech. It has previously launched campaigns against HB2, the North Carolina Bathroom Bill, fought against the defunding of Planned Parenthood, and launched its own sex education series after Utah voted against sex ed funding.

“Across the globe, we see governments seeking shut down the free internet, or to limit it to corporate interests,” says Hawkins. “We’re a community built on user uploads. In a time of corporate censorship and conservative crackdowns, we think that making sex videos is a revolutionary act, and we’re glad to be able to lend our support to the fight for Net Neutrality. Choke the chicken, not the internet!”

ummmm....no. I don't support something that puts ones rights above others. we're all equal.

This comment section made me depressed.
It's not about left or right or free speech or Soros or facebook or whatever. It's about either relinquishing a right you currently have or not. And even if you want to sell your rights, you should get something in return. YOU WON'T. Politicians will sell your rights for you, will sell the ability to access you and influence you, will sell the ability to dictate what you should and shouldn't watch and read, and will receive all the payment for that transaction.
THAT's internet neutrality.

Never heard of "Title II" foundation, but is noticeable that world is being ran by a very few and not honest and non-transparent individuals and organizations ( Soros, banksters, greedy corporations ). Freedom of speech is not in their interest .... but it is of our interest and in interest of any freedom-loving, decent person. Just to refresh your memory :

受信者 Crippler104 : Nobody's killed my free speech. I say whatever the fuck I want. I just don't have it in me to say anything stupid. Fuck the goddamn left. And fuck the goddamn right.

By the way, how the fuck you gonna complain about the left censoring free speech, but you approve of the censorship of "certain sites"? Yeah, fuck off, man.

受信者 HentailFeathers : The stupidity is that people think certain sites shouldn't be censored. Don't get me wrong though. I agree that some of this would be bad, but not all would be.

Anti-HB2 campaign was stupid. Nobody was discriminated against.

We need net neutrality, but many online users are unaware how bad our internet can become without this protection against provider fraud.

They can't possibly get away with doing this... it would destroy alot of foreign competition on both sides of the Globe. Aren't there laws in other countries that go against this very thing?
